Interesting Quotes (that I like)
- "You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete." Richard Buckminster Fuller
- Environment and Culture: In order to survive, humans must provide for their material, emotional and intellectual needs. These are satisfied by culture. A complex system that includes tools, language, arts, and believes. Cultures vary because they must be compatible with their supporting environments. Thus different climates, terrains sources of food evoke different cultural responses. - Royal BC Museum, Victoria, Ca. (www.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca)- Respect the cultural differences. Preserve humanity and justice.
- Most of us tiptoe through life to safely arrive at death.
- A good man apologizes for the mistakes of past. A great man corrects the mistakes of past. Goutte?
Need a Recommendation Letter?
If you're applying to graduate school or job and need me to write you a letter of recommendation, please consider helping me by providing as much information as possible. Therefore, I appreciate if you provide the following:
- A copy of your resume,
- A list of your outstanding academic achievements and grade point average (GPA),
- A list of specific projects you have done with me,
- A List courses you have taken with me, including the semester, projects you completed, and your final grade in the course,
- A list of your extracurricular or volunteer activities for the department (including your participation in outreach events and those activities where you filled a leadership role, such participating in the engineering club, SWE, etc.),
- The date by which the letter must be submitted to the graduate program. Kindly, give me minimum of seven days to finish the letter.
Remember: The less information you provide the shorter my letter would be. If you are applying for a graduate school, a well-written, enthusiastic letter of recommendation from a professor may do more than getting you accepted - it may also convince the program to give you fellowship funding for tuition or paid employment as a research or teaching assistant.
Read this carefully:
When seeking a recommendation letter, it is crucial to approach faculty members who are familiar with your work and hold a high opinion of your capabilities. Before making a request, engage in discussions about your past experiences with potential recommenders to gain insight into how they may highlight the quality of your work, level of enthusiasm, self-reliance, and the creativity and originality of your thoughts.
This proactive approach will not only help you choose the most suitable recommenders but also ensure that the recommendation letter reflects your strengths and achievements accurately.
