Class Activity - Getting to know yourself and each other!

PART 1: Introduction (20 min / 4 people per team) - The purpose of the first part of this activity is introduce yourself to one another. Team up with people you do not know too well and tell them about yourself and interests:

    1. Name / where you come from!
    2. Background (your interests, when you graduate, etc.)
    3. One thing about you that surprises others (e.g., I am a good cook!)
    4. Your plan after graduation?
    5. What is your real passion? What really drives you? Have you discovered it?
    6. What type of project are you looking for? What is your big goal in developing a project idea?
    7. What type of partnership are you looking for? What is your desired work environment? (e.g., collaborative / independent )

PART 2: Product Development Canvas (understanding the thinking process to kick off your project) - (45 min) In the second part of this activity, your team is expected to come up with a technical project idea. As you develop your project idea, you should think about questions listed below.

    1. What is your project purpose or idea?
    2. How is your idea different from existing similar products/services?
    3. Who is your customer base? How large is your customer base? Why do they need your idea/product/service? (Market size)
    4. How do you generate revenue through your product/service? What is the cost of the project? Do you think the customer will pay this much for your idea/product/service?
    5. What type of skills/ability do you have to complete this project?
    6. What type of skills do you need to complete this project?
    7. How do you provide support for your customer after selling your project/idea/service

PART 3: Presentation - everyone in the team should participate (5 min. per team / 30 min. total). We will continue with the presentations the following week.
